NorthWind Fine Arts is pleased to announce member Becky Johnson’s September exhibit, “Translation.”
Becky Johnson’s artwork often begins with noticing of light and color in the natural world. She describes,“I become curious.
Wondering if what I am experiencing in feeling can be translated and expressed into physical form.”
Becky works with wood, paints, and stains to create her mind-puzzling large scale wall pieces. She enjoys the physicality of creating with reclaimed wood, where the grain, texture, and character add to the story in the image.
Becky says her work is, “A humble offering from my self, edging towards reciprocity with this wild place.”

Northwind Fine Arts is pleased to announce the work of Jim Laurino will be on exhibit August through September, at 85 Main Street, Saranac Lake, NY. Jim
Laurino's plein air work is familiar to many art aficionados in the North Country.

As a plein air painter, Jim enjoys the challenge of working on location, believing it adds richness to his content.
He has cultivated a bold, representational painting style, that balances the impressionist's influence with contemporary subject matter.

Laurino is a frequent participant in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival held in Saranac Lake in mid-August, where he was awarded first place in 2024. He shows his work in venues across the Northeast, including frequently exhibiting at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, CT, the birthplace of American Impressionist Art.
Jim will be attending this year's plein air festival in August. Look for his fresh work during the festival and at NorthWind Fine Arts August 1st-September 28th.
